U Turn Stranraer service users have come to the rescue of a local garden that had been vandalised last week. The group had already been in doing some work at the garden in preparation for an open day when the following weekend it was badly vandalised. The Aldouran Wetland Garden is situated in a village three miles from Stranraer and is enjoyed by many local people. One of the volunteers for the garden, Jane Sloan had gone in on a Saturday morning with a group of children to continue the preparations and were devastated to discover the damage. Locals took to social media to voice their disgust at the damage. Jackie Rae, U Turn Personal Development Mentor, pledged Apex’s help over the weekend to go and fix the damage. He also sought help from our local Jewson branch who kindly donated and delivered the wood needed to repair the damage. The U Turn team went on Monday morning and repaired all the damage in one day. Jane and the whole community have been so grateful for the work Apex did and arranged for the local paper to come and take pictures. Our clients appeared on the front page showing the positive way Apex works and how they are giving something back to the community.
