We continue our commitment to moving forward the thinking around Justice and the ambition for a more modern, fair and effective system of legal governance by inviting The Rt. Hon. James Wolffe QC, Lord Advocate to give this year’s lecture on the subject ‘Prosecution in the Public Interest’.
The event will be held in the Signet Library in Edinburgh, on Tuesday 5 September at 6.30pm and will be followed by a drinks reception.
As a new wind blows through the whole structure of criminal justice, including the shift towards prevention of crime; developing community justice approaches and reducing the prison population; this lecture offers an insight into the thinking of Scotland’s Chief Prosecutor on the relationship between public protection and progressive policy. An opportunity will be available to raise questions following the lecture.
Interest is likely to be high so we would appreciate your early reply as numbers are limited. Please rsvp to lynn.hannah@apexscotland.org.uk by Friday 25 August.
