Due to the cessation of ESF funding, on 31 December our Steps service comes to an end after five years. We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved over the life of Steps and the amount of people our staff have supported through it.
To help celebrate our success, we have produced a booklet which gives a snapshot of Steps and some of the outcomes attained. The official statistics do not reflect every person we have worked with or the full extent of the work that has been done with them but, as always, our staff have ensured that everyone who approached us for help was supported regardless. The case studies in the booklet show a range of issues faced by our clients and a few of the ways in which Apex has played a part in their story. We know that in some cases Apex can be a last resort or perhaps the only organisation people are referred to and the Steps service brought hope and support to those who faced particular barriers such as previous serious offences, addictions or an extended length of unemployment.
Apex has enormous gratitude for everyone who has been part of the Steps service and contributed to its success. But this is perhaps best reflected in the client comments, some of which have been included in the booklet, which illustrate how appreciated our Personal Development Mentors are and who, even years later, are still remembered by those they supported and are credited with helping them find a positive future. Thank you and well done to all involved.
