Members of a new women’s group showcased their creative talent in an art exhibition recently. The art group is part of a programme called Women Only Workshop (W.O.W) which has been introduced by Apex Forth Valley and aims to help women build confidence, learn new skills and develop social networks.
Lifeskills volunteers help at dog home
A group of young local people – run by Apex Scotland at Cooperage Way in Alloa – have been carrying out voluntary work at Bandweath Dog Shelter in Throsk near Stirling. They travel through on a weekly basis to help out at the Shelter and understand that voluntary work is a valuable tool to have on their CV when applying for jobs.

Staff at Apex Forth Valley are encouraging local women to take advantage of the exciting WOW programme that focuses on self confidence, health and wellbeing. They also offer an excellent Lifeskills programme for 16-18 year olds that develops social and employability skills.
Chief Civil Servant visits successful Greenfield Café in Alloa
The Scottish Government’s Permanent Secretary, Sir Peter Housden joined staff and service users of Apex Scotland at the Clackmannanshire Council Greenfield Café in Alloa on the 3rd May 2012 and saw first hand how this successful partnership was making a significant difference to the lives of the Apex clients and the service users from the Council’s Adult Day Services who worked there.
