Saturday 27th August saw the Grampian team take part in the ACVO Celebrate Aberdeen parade, which showcases the many charities and volunteers supporting the Third Sector in the City. Approximately 1,200 people walked down Union Street, representing 100 charities and community groups sponsored by dozens of organisations from the private sector.
Starting at 09:45 with Gayle and Kelly collecting the banners and donation buckets, Grampian staff travelled from far-off places such as Inverness, Elgin and Inverurie in order to promote Apex Scotland.
It was a hot day and a great atmosphere, surrounded by so many likeminded people – Alzheimer Scotland behind us, and the ARCHIE Foundation in front – with bands and balloons and bagpipes all marking a phenomenally vibrant day.
