Chloe is a fourth year pupil in Lochgelly High School who has been working with Inclusion Co-ordinator, Kirsty Yeoman, in an intensive support programme. Chloe is currently working to achieve her Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE), which is awarded by ASDAN after completion of 12 modules.
One of Chloe’s personal challenges is communication, so it was to her credit that she chose to complete a module on this very subject. The module required Chloe to write, illustrate and colour a children’s book before reading the story to a younger audience. Chloe exceeded her own expectations by completing two different books and invited a number of youngsters to hear her tell the tales of Geffery the Giraffe.
In the audience was Chloe’s mum who understands how difficult this challenge was for her and said, “I am so proud of Chloe, the stories are fantastic”.
Kirsty Yeoman explained, “Chloe smashed it! The stories were brilliant and the amount of work she put into the day was of such a high standard”.
Chloe summed up the day: “I really enjoyed it and I am proud of myself”.
