Apex Highland started off its year with service users completing Heartstart training. This gives service users a high level of understanding in how to potentially save a life with skills such as identifying suspected heart attacks, dealing with serious bleeding, how to help someone who is choking, how to put an unconscious person in the recovery position and how to carry out CPR on an unconscious person who is not breathing.
These skills are fantastic and can help individuals save a life. These courses are held each month and are well attended. The training is delivered in house by David McNulty who has also recently been trained to deliver an SQA Level 5 First Aid course.
