Members of a new women’s group showcased their creative talent in an art exhibition recently. The art group is part of a programme called Women Only Workshop (W.O.W) which has been introduced by Apex Forth Valley and aims to help women build confidence, learn new skills and develop social networks.
As part of this participants took part in workshops over four weeks – culminating in an exhibition at The Hub in Alloa. They worked with Alva Ecolodge and took part with exercises to engage with nature, awaken senses and embrace individual creativity.
Then they created natural art throughout workshops, with help from recyclable materials given by the Hub, which was then unveiled at the exhibition. Apex works in close partnership with NHS Keep Well and WISH (Women in Sport and Health). The W.O.W Programme has been so successful that it is hoped another group will be launched.
