Jasmine, an S3 pupil of Dunfermline High School has been working very hard over the past couple of months to create an art piece all about herself using her judo red belt. Jasmine has been working on self esteem and confidence during her time with the Inclusion unit and came up with the idea along with Apex Inclusion Co-ordinator, Kelly Owens, to design a patchwork piece which includes areas of her life such as personality, school, friends and family.
Jasmine wrote a paragraph about her time spent in the Inclusion unit and how it has helped her.
“I attend the Inclusion unit as it helps me speak about difficult issues and is fun to go to. Recently I have been working on a project all about me. I spoke to Kelly about displaying the information and we came up with the idea of creating a judo patchwork belt with my red judo belt. I enjoyed the project because it was a great practical activity and it allowed me to express myself confidently and I found out things about myself that I didn’t know.”
