Apex Stranraer’s Moving In project has been awarded £4600 by tenants of Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership (DGHP) who are on the organisation’s District Management Committee. The money will help DGHP tenants by providing them with new home ‘starter packs’ so that they have some basic necessities once they receive the keys to their new properties.
Willie Kirsopp from the local committee said: “I am delighted that DGHP’s Wigtown DMC committee was able to support this worthy project that will help many of our tenants in the Stranraer area when they are setting up in their new homes.”
Apex receives referrals from DGHP staff and is specifically for people in crisis, on benefits and a low income. The wider Apex project also incorporates Wigtownshire foodbank, in partnership with the Trussell Trust.
