New Routes is the national public social partnership mentoring service targeting prolific male offenders aged 16-25 with the objective to reduce re-offending. Apex supports individuals returning from prison to the Tayside area.
New Routes provides support for individuals on release from prison. A mentor can offer support for up to 6 months pre- and 6 months post-release. New Routes provides a ‘through the gate’ support service through difficult periods of transition, promotes stability and helps the individual progress into positive activity.
This service is specifically for those currently in custody. Males aged 16-25 who are prolific offenders, serving a prison sentence of between 3 months and four years can access this service.
Self-referrals can be taken by offenders whilst they are in prison or from any other agencies who are working with prisoners within the prison.
