This part ESF funded service – Addressing Criminality & Employability – is run in the ASCEND operational centre, dealing with aspects of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the practical aspects relating to this such as letters of disclosure.
This service is delivered within the local community to ex-offenders. Information and guidance is given on the following:

- Police Act 1997
- Sex Offenders Act 2003
- Exclusions and Exceptions Order 2003
- PVG and POCSA 2007
- Letter of Disclosure
This service is available to all those with an offending background accessing appropriate recovery pathway services on referral from relevant agencies.
Partner agencies from the Inverness and Easter Ross communities can refer individuals directly to the Highland unit, including prison staff, Youth Action Teams and SDS staff. Referrals can be made by email or phone through criminal justice social work, treatment and rehabilitation services such as Osprey House or Beechwood House and Ascend.
