Sainsbury’s Newton Stewart has announced that Apex Scotland will receive a year’s worth of fundraising and awareness support as the new Local Charity partner for the retailer’s local store.
The scheme, which began in 2009, has raised more than £5 million to support local communities in the last four years and Sainsbury’s Newton Stewart raised £700 for its chosen charity last year. Customers had a huge say in this year’s announcement and voted in-store and online between May 1-15. Apex staff will be announcing the partnership to customers over the next couple of weeks.
Sainsbury’s Newton Stewart store manager said: “We’ve had a great response from our customers and we’re delighted to have chosen a charity which many of our customers and colleagues can associate with. We will now be working closely with the charity to ensure they really benefit from the Local Charity partnership”.
