Working as part of a multi-agency partnership, Apex Scotland is delivering the New Routes mentoring service in the Tayside area. This is an exciting initiative, now in its third year, initiated to prevent re-offending amongst males and contributing to the Scottish Government’s reducing re-offending strategy
We are now looking to recruit 1 part-time, temporary Personal Development Mentor (PDM) to join our team in the Tayside area. The exact location of the staff base can be discussed at interview however it is anticipated that there will be extensive travel throughout the area.
Funding has been secured until March 2016, with possible extension, therefore we now require a self-motivated, hard working individual who is able to motivate and inspire change in others. The successful candidate will be required to work in a prison environment and in the community. Due to the nature of this post, there will be significant travel involved therefore a driving licence and access to own vehicle or access to a mode of transport is essential.
For this post you will have knowledge or experience of mentoring approaches. Experience of working in a prison environment would be an advantage.
In view of the nature of this post and the requirement to work within a prison setting, the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced disclosure/PVG check.
