Track2Train is the latest exciting social enterprise to be operated by Apex Scotland, the leading specialists in ensuring equality of access to employment for the most disengaged and disadvantaged in Scotland.
Track2train in Newtongrange will provide a high quality café/bistro, The Sidings, which in turn will provide a training environment for our clients. There will also be a suite of training rooms available for hire, providing top quality accommodation with all the associated support.
We are now in the position to recruit a self-motivated, self-reliant and talented Operations Manager to oversee the initial phase of The Sidings and Track2Train. At this time we require an individual who will manage the start-up and opening of The Sidings. We anticipate that this phase will last for 4 months. Thereafter there may be the opportunity for the post to become permanent. The post is based in Newtongrange.
The successful applicant will lead all operations to ensure a smooth and successful opening of The Sidings and the Track2Train social enterprise. You will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, excellent planning and organisations skills, as well as an understanding of the role of social enterprises in providing opportunities for training and development of individuals. You will have a proven track record of setting up a hospitality based initiative.
This role will be exciting and fast-moving therefore we require an individual who can think fast and who has the ability to make good decisions. You will be required to engage with a range of stakeholders therefore your communications skills, both oral and written will need to be of the highest standard.
