In partnership with Fife Council’s Young People’s Team Apex Scotland is delivering services designed to support young people who are in transition from leaving the looked after system and moving to independent living. Our role within the partnership is to provide advice and guidance to clients on employment, training or further education opportunities and the wider employability agenda.
If you would like to play a part in this exciting initiative, we now require a Personal Development Mentor to join our AYE service as part of our Fife team.
This post is based within the social work offices in Glenrothes and works in close partnership with social work staff and other agencies. Experience of working with young people and an understanding of issues affecting young people are desirable, caseload responsibilities and a commitment to providing a professional service are essential. A driving license or access to a means of transport is essential due to the area covered. Knowledge of the Scottish criminal justice system and of working with care leavers is desirable. We have secured funding for this service to 31 March 2021 and we are hopeful of extension.
In view of the nature of this post, the successful candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG scheme.
Please note due to current lockdown restrictions, successful applicants may begin employment on a remote working basis with full online training provided until Government guidance allows office working conditions.
