Apex Scotland is the leading employment and training organisation specialising in work with people with convictions.
Apex Scotland offers a diverse range of services for young people and adults to help them remove personal barriers to employment and engage in education, employment or community activities. We also work in partnership with many organisations and employers.
We are excited to be part of the new Pre Employability in Clackmannanshire (PEC) Partnership which is a new initiative created to help anyone aged 16 to 67 break down barriers to employment. PEC can offer a wide variety of support to help individuals take steps to better opportunities and health. Support could include counselling, literacy, numeracy or digital support, confidence building, travel support, a wide range of training options and access to local work placements. More details on the partnership can be found on the PEC website at https://www.pec.scot/index.html.
Apex Scotland is looking for two enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who have effective communication skills and an understanding of the nature of issues that unemployed individuals may present with. The right candidates will have the ability to engage with service users on a one to one basis to gather information, look at options, develop and agree an action plan, and assist them to overcome barriers to progression. An understanding of local employability pipelines would be an advantage, as would knowledge of the network of support agencies in the area. We envisage the post holders being based from the offices of Apex Scotland and working closely with partner agencies.
For this post you should be able to demonstrate good communications skills, be approachable and compassionate and have knowledge or experience of employability and action planning. Experience of working to deadlines and targets is desirable. A keen eye for detail and understanding of good record keeping is essential as information is recorded in paper files and electronically. You would need to demonstrate flexibility and the ability to deal with targets. Experience of partnership working would be an advantage. Some travel will be required therefore a driving licence or access to a means of transport would also be an advantage. This service is currently funded until June 2022 with hope of further extension.
The funding has recently been confirmed for this exciting new service and we are looking to fill the post as quickly as possible. Interviews will be in person if numbers allow and can be done as safely as possible, however remote interviews using the Teams application may also be an option.
Part time or job share options can be discussed, please state your preference on your application.
In view of the nature of this post and the requirement to work with vulnerable adults, this post holder will be required to join the relevant PVG scheme.
This service is funded through the UK Government and will be delivered as a partnership by the following organisations: CTSI, Clackmannanshire Economic Regeneration Trust (CERT), Addiction Support Counselling (ASC), Apex Scotland, Resilience Learning Partnership, Dial-a-Journey, Forth Valley College, All Cleaned Up, Ceteris and Japanese Garden, with some others.
