Personal Development Mentor (RAFT) – Aberdeen

We now have a vacancy based in our Aberdeen city centre project working on our provision supporting Youth Justice Services.  If you would like to play a part in this exciting initiative, we now require a Personal Development Mentor to join our team.

For this post we are looking for people with an interest in working with young people with specific needs and differing abilities. You will be responsible for delivering group activity based interventions, engaging with young people who are known to police for offending behaviour.

Activities will aim to improve young people’s personal and social responsibility, along with their own sense of self-respect and the creation of more positive peer groups.  This service is a new service to Aberdeen, focusing on the families of Aberdeen.  It brings together 5 organisations in order to fully support a young person and their family.  This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with these organisations, along with social work and Police Scotland, while working intensely with a young person.

Knowledge or experience of basic Microsoft Office packages including databases is essential as well as good co-ordination and administration skills as this role will also include representation at review meetings, feedback to relevant bodies and sessional co-ordination.  We work closely with other organisations to meet the needs of our diverse client group therefore experience of multi-agency working is desirable.  Prospective candidates should note that this post will require participation in outdoor activities, travel and training, therefore a current driving licence and vehicle or access to a means of transport is essential.

In view of the nature of this post, the successful candidate will be required to be a member of the PVG scheme.
