In partnership with Dundee City Council, Angus Council and Perth and Kinross Council Criminal Justice Departments we have created a unique employability mentoring service which directly tackles the barriers faced by individuals with a criminal record in accessing available education, training and employment opportunities. This is an existing team that works closely with Criminal Justice staff. We now require a full-time Personal Development Mentor.
For this post you will have knowledge or experience of mentoring approaches and an understanding of the barriers to employment faced by individuals with a criminal record. Experience of working with a caseload of service users and working to targets are essential. Experience of working in partnership and in a community environment would be an advantage. It is anticipated that there will be extensive travel throughout the area therefore a driving license or access to a means of transport is essential.
This is a long running partnership service, which is currently funded until 31 March 2017. We are hopeful of extension.
If you feel you have the skills and motivation to deliver this service, please download an application pack. Job share applications will be considered.
In view of the nature of this post, the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme to confirm suitability for working with vulnerable adults.
