Apex Scotland is the leading employment and training organisation specialising in work with people with convictions.
We are nearing the end of phase 1 of funding secured through European Social Fund’s National Third Sector Fund to deliver the Steps Employability Service. We are now looking to recruit a temporary Personal Development Mentor to help deliver this employability service covering the Tayside area. This is a service aiming to help unemployed adults make changes in their lives to help them towards employment or other positive destinations.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate good communication skills, be approachable and compassionate and have knowledge or experience of employability. Experience of working to deadlines and targets are desirable. A keen eye for detail and understanding of good record keeping is essential as information is recorded in paper files and on our database.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who has effective communication skills and an understanding of the nature of issues that unemployed individuals may present with. The right candidate will be able to motivate and inspire change in others, have an understanding of barriers to progression or employment and be able to work with a wide range of people to help them progress. Rate of pay: Salary Scale £19,783 - £21,895 pro rata, per annum
Hours of work: The hours of work will be 17.5 hours per week. This post is funded to end of June 2019 with possible extension (awaiting confirmation).
