RE:SET is a key component in Apex Scotland’s delivery of effective and time appropriate services with young people experiencing difficulty in and outside of the school setting. Using the key pillars of Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) our innovative practice supports national policies and local strategy to ensure young people have equal access to opportunities and positive experiences, regardless of their social context or personal needs. We engage with young people, often with complex needs and vulnerabilities, to help all children and young people overcome the barriers they face.
Building on the success of our work, we are looking forward to working in partnership with Lornshill Academy in Clackmannanshire. Through our partnership approach we aim to improve the life chances of disadvantaged young people, improve wellbeing and reduce the number of exclusions and progressions to third tier support.
This initiative is funded to work alongside the school in order to equip pupils with motivation and skills; raise aspiration; improve relationships and increase attainment and attendance.
For this post you will have experience of working with socially excluded young people and be able to develop and deliver a training programme that identifies and meets the needs of individuals. Experience of delivering group work and one to ones to young people overcoming barriers are essential for supporting participants to achieve their potential. The ability to work with a range of other disciplines is also essential. A driving license or access to a means of transport would be an advantage but not essential. This post can be considered for either full time or part time hours, however a minimum of 21 hours is required. This can be discussed at interview.
The funding for this service is initially until March 2022 however we are hopeful this may be extended beyond this date.
In view of the nature of this post, the successful candidates will be required to join the PVG scheme.
