CSCS cards are not legally required before you can start work, however employers usually prefer their employees to have one so that they know individuals are qualified to carry out the work required of them. Virtually everyone involved in a construction project has legal duties under CDM Regulations 2015 and obtaining a CSCS card proves you have a basic level of health and safety knowledge required of a worker. Many construction sites will require tradesmen to hold CSCS cards before being allowed on site.
Completion of the CSCS course and passing both the SQA ‘Health and Safety in a Construction Environment’ and CITB’s ‘Health and Safety for Operatives’ tests will achieve the green labourer’s CSCS card. For skilled workers please contact CSCS directly.
Apex provides training for the SQA qualification (required from 1 July 2014) before the relevant assessment and test, processing of SQA results, booking of the CITB test and applying for your CSCS card as well as all the necessary administrative procedures.
This training is relevant for anyone wishing to work in the construction industry or related sectors.
To take part in the training course, have access to the necessary SQA test and to book your CITB test, please complete the application form and a member of staff will be in touch shortly. Alternatively, please telephone your local Apex office which you can find here.
