This part ESF funded service – Addressing Criminality & Employability – is run in the ASCEND operational centre, dealing with aspects of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the practical aspects relating to this such as letters of disclosure.
Read more about ACE…The ASCEND service (Apex Specialist Community Engagement Northern Development), based in Inverness, offers person centred interventions to meet the varying needs of those in recovery from any type of addictive behaviours and those people entering or exiting the community justice system living in Inverness and Easter-Ross.
Read more about ASCEND…Auricular acupuncture is a specialised complementary therapy where acupuncture points on the outer ear are treated using needles to help relieve many chronic complaints. The treatment helps to support and maintain recovery of those accessing Apex services. Benefits include improved concentration and focus, alleviating anxiety and stress, improved appetite and sleep.

This intervention encourages service users to become involved in long and short term community projects and challenges. These teams work on projects to benefit the community and increase individual skills and abilities. These activities are for male and female service users who would not normally have access to such experiences and helps motivate their desire to re-engage in mainstream provision and return to work.

Read more about SMART – Recovery…This ESF funded service assists those who have multiple barriers to employment or who are long term unemployed. Our objective is for each individual to complete their action plan by moving into employment, training, more advanced qualifications or progression to stage 3 providers on the Employability Pipeline.

It can include volunteering, short courses, supported learning and practical experiences. Each agreement is individually tailored to the person.
