We are looking for Personal Development Mentor(s) to join our team in the Forth Valley area to cover our service we deliver in partnership with Justice Social Work. This could be a full time role or be covered by more than one part time staff member.
We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic mentors who have effective communication skills and an understanding of the nature of issues that unemployed individuals, some of whom who may have been involved in the Justice System, or others who may be at risk of being involved in the Justice System, may present with.
The right candidate(s) will have the ability to engage with service users on a one-to-one basis to assist them to overcome barriers to progression. An understanding of local employability pipelines would be an advantage, as would knowledge of the network of support agencies in the area. You would need to demonstrate flexibility as well as the ability to work in partnership and deal with targets. Some travel may be required therefore a driving licence and/or access to a means of transport would be an advantage.
For this service you should be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, be approachable and compassionate and have knowledge or experience of employability. Experience of working to deadlines and targets is desirable. Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System would be an advantage, training can be given. Effective communication and team working skills are essential as the post holder will work closely with Justice Social Work to deliver this service.
This post is maternity cover for a period of up to 6 months to February 2024 and is suitable for part time job share. After the maternity cover period we may be able to discuss further part time work opportunities.
In view of the nature of this post and the requirement to work with vulnerable adults, the post holder(s) will be required to join the relevant PVG scheme.

Rate of pay: Salary Scale £22,597 - £24,883 per annum (pro rata if part time)
Hours of work: 35 hours per week. Part time/job share can be discussed (please state on application)
