In partnership with Fife Council Social Work’s leaving care team and the Opportunities for All partnership, we are delivering services designed to support young people who are in transition from leaving the looked after system and moving to independent living. Our role within the partnership is to provide advice and guidance to clients on employment, training or further education opportunities and the wider employability agenda.
If you would like to play a part in this exciting initiative, we now require a Personal Development Mentor to join our team based in Fife.
This post is based within the social work offices in Glenrothes, with access to additional office space in Crosshill, and works in close partnership with social work staff and other agencies. Experience of working with young people and an understanding of issues affecting young people are essential. Caseload responsibilities and a commitment to providing a professional service are also essential. A driving licence or access to a means of transport is essential due to the area covered. Knowledge of the Scottish criminal justice system and of working with care leavers is desirable, however training will be given. We have secured funding for this service to 31 March 2020 and we are hopeful of extension.
In view of the nature of this post, the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG scheme.
