Thanks to funding from the City of Edinburgh Council, an exciting and challenging role has developed in Edinburgh, working across both Apex Scotland and its social enterprise commercial cleaning subsidiary, All Cleaned Up (ACU).
We are now seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Service Development Manager to manage and grow our ABC Skills Academy employability service.
The post will require someone with knowledge and experience of developing employability services and growing our skills academy model in partnership with ACU. Knowledge of the commercial cleaning sector would also be an advantage. You will lead a highly motivated and successful staff team to ensure that services are of a high quality, targets are met and ACU operates within its set budget targets.
The successful candidate will be a self starter who can demonstrate excellent networking and management skills. You will have line management responsibility for the staff to ensure the effective delivery of services to contract specifications. You will have responsibility for the overall operational management of the cleaning business as well as the employability service to ensure that each meet their strategic goals and performance targets. You will also maintain and develop relationships with customers, funders and partner agencies to maintain and expand the services where possible. You will have excellent communications skills, an understanding of report and bid writing, supervisory experience with the ability to motivate staff.
Due to the large geographical area covered by the cleaning business the successful candidate should have access to their own vehicle or mode of transport for which appropriate travel will be reimbursed.
In view of the nature of this post and the requirement to work with vulnerable adults and supervise staff who will work with vulnerable adults, the post holder will be required to join the relevant PVG scheme.

Rate of pay: Salary Scale £31,947 – £34,212 (pending review
Hours of work: 35 hours per week. Part time or job share options can be considered (please state on application)
