For almost 40 years we have been providing specialist employability services to those who have been, or are currently, in the criminal justice system. Thanks to funding from the City of Edinburgh Council, an exciting and challenging role has developed in Edinburgh. We are now seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Service Development Manager to manage and oversee our “Strides” employability service in the city.
Strides aims to maximise the employment prospects of people in various sectors including construction and cleaning/facilities management. You will develop further our skills academy approach particularly though All Cleaned Up, our own social enterprise commercial cleaning company.
You will lead a team of highly motivated and knowledgeable staff and the continued success of the All Cleaned Up skills academy.
The post will require someone with knowledge and experience of developing employability services and development of a commercial cleaning skills academy.
The successful candidate will be a self starter who can demonstrate excellent networking and management skills, particularly with employers. You will have line management responsibility for the staff to ensure the effective delivery of services to contract specifications. You will have responsibility for the overall operational management of the cleaning business as well as the employability service to ensure that each meet their strategic goals and performance targets. You will also maintain and develop relationships with customers, funders and partner agencies to maintain and expand the services where possible. You will have excellent communications skills, an understanding of report and bid writing, supervisory experience with the ability to motivate staff.
Due to the large geographical area covered by the cleaning business the successful candidate should have access to their own vehicle or mode of transport for which appropriate travel expenses will be reimbursed.

In view of the nature of this post and the requirement to work with vulnerable adults and supervise staff who will work with vulnerable adults, the post holder will be required to join the relevant PVG scheme.

Rate of pay: Salary Scale £33,132 – £35,397 per annum
Hours of work: 35 hours per week. Part time/job share can be considered.
