Apex Scotland offers a diverse range of services for young people and adults to help them remove personal barriers to employment and engage in education, employment or community activities. We also work in partnership with many organisations and employers.
We have secured funding through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund to deliver an employability service in the Edinburgh City area, this will build on the success of our previous service funded through ESF. The new Strides employability service will focus on helping individuals break down barriers to employment or progression and maximising opportunities in key industries including Cleaning, Hospitality and Construction.
We are looking for a Service Development Manager – an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who can demonstrate effective communication skills, who wants career progression and can demonstrate at interview that they can lead a team, ensure contract compliance and motivate staff to achieve the expectations of our funders.
For this post we are seeking an ambitious, motivated, proactive individual who will be responsible for overseeing the team to ensure they develop themselves and the service to ensure we achieve a high standard of performance. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of this project including contractual compliance and partner relationships. You will have excellent communication skills, an understanding of report and bid writing, supervisory experience with the ability to engage with partner agencies and organisations.
This role will also play an important part in developing our volunteer strategies moving forward. We will be looking for them to take the lead in many areas which will increase our engagement with volunteers in the future. Knowledge or experience of strategies to increase successful volunteer engagement would be an advantage.
In view of the nature of this post and the requirement to work with vulnerable adults and supervise staff who will work with vulnerable adults, the post holder will be required to join the relevant PVG scheme.

Rate of pay: Salary Scale £31,947 - £34,212 (pending review)
Hours of work: 35 hours per week. Part time or job share options can be discussed, please state your preference on your application.
