The photograph above shows Apex Highland Service Development Manager Alistair McDonald (on the left) receiving the Healthy Working Lives Award from Steve Bell, Strategic Director from the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives, with Apex Personal Development Mentor Katrina Beattie looking on.
In order to achieve the Sliver Award, Apex Highland had to, amongst other things:
• implement a workplace policy on alcohol and drugs that includes education about sensible drinking, and counselling support
• plan activity to raise awareness about mental health and well-being issues, including stress in the workplace
• Identify why staff may have difficulty attending work and support staff returning to work
• encourage the reporting of accidents and act on incidents and ‘near misses’
Alistair said
“I’m very pleased to accept this Silver Award on behalf of Apex Highland. The staff have worked hard to achieve this and it has motivated us to now go on and try for the Gold Award”.
