U Turn clients have come to the rescue of a local garden that had been vandalized. The group had already been in doing some work at the garden in preparation for an open day when the following weekend it was badly vandalized.
Moving In Project Receives Funding From DGHP
Apex Stranraer’s Moving In project has been awarded £4600 by tenants of Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership (DGHP) who are on the the organisations District Management Committee. The money will help DGHP tenants by providing them starter packs to get up and running when they get the keys to their new properties.

Apex Stranraer U Turn Collect Cheque From YMCA
Apex Stranraer’s U Turn service was presented with a cheque for £500 from Stranraer YMCA this week. This was from the Santa float fundraising event which takes place every year in Stranraer.
Stranraer U Turn Volunteers help save Christmas!
Apex U Turn were approached by Stranraer YMCA to help build a new Santa float. The Santa float is a local tradition that was saved two years ago by Stranraer YMCA after the local Round Table group folded due to lack of numbers. The float goes round all of the town and every village in the surrounding area and collects money for local charities.

Apex staff and clients were delighted to receive a donation from Cash For Kids last month which enabled service users to take their children and younger siblings to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The service engages clients in volunteering projects that benefit the local communities in Dumfries and Stranraer as well as providing the clients with practical work experience.
